Bijgevolg worden verzekeringsmaatschappijen geconfronteerd met onzekerheid bij het beoordelen van mogelijke schade aan de batterij, wat vaak resulteert in conservatieve afschrijvingen, zelfs als ze slechts een paar kilometer hebben afgelegd. Deze praktijk verhoogt niet alleen de verzekeringspremies voor consumenten, maar draagt ook bij aan onnodig afval en belemmert de principes van de circulaire economie die ten grondslag liggen aan de EV-industrie.<\/p>\n<p>Cell Guard van <strong>Metis Engineering<\/strong> is ontwikkeld om dit probleem op te lossen. De eerste innovatieve oplossing op de markt is een CAN-gebaseerde sensor die eenvoudig kan worden ge\u00efntegreerd in vrijwel elk batterijsysteem en is voorzien van een versnellingsmeter om schokbelasting en -duur tot +\/-24G te meten.<\/p>\n<p>Het apparaatje, ter grootte van een luciferdoosje, is een unieke sensor die onge\u00ebvenaarde nauwkeurige en gedetailleerde informatie geeft over de gezondheid van een lithium-ion accupakket door schokgegevens via een configureerbare CAN-interface door te sturen naar een regeleenheid, zoals de ECU van het voertuig, waartoe toegang kan worden verkregen om een veel beter inzicht te krijgen in de conditie van de accu voor hergebruik en recycling, evenals eventuele latere verzekeringsclaims.<\/p>\n<p>Deze informatie kan de wederverkoopmarkt van gebruikte EV's radicaal veranderen, waarbij kopers de broodnodige duidelijkheid krijgen om weloverwogen beslissingen te kunnen nemen over de staat van het accupakket en het onderhoud ervan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joe Holdsworth, CEO van Metis Engineering zei:<\/strong> \"Het onbekende risico van een slechte gezondheid van de batterij van EV's is een van de grootste en belangrijkste obstakels die de groei van de markt voor gebruikte elektrische voertuigen belemmert. Cell Guard is een baanbrekende oplossing die een brug slaat tussen verzekeraars, consumenten en de EV-industrie.<\/p>\n<p>Cell Guard is ontwikkeld met behulp van ISO26262-processen en gecertificeerd volgens ISO Automotive Standards.
