Las pruebas revelaron que el sensor Cell Guard detectaba un incidente de fuga t\u00e9rmica siete minutos antes que otras evaluaciones.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/metisengineering.com\/product\/cell-guard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guardia celular<\/a> es un sensor \u00fanico que proporciona informaci\u00f3n precisa y detallada sin igual sobre el estado de las bater\u00edas de iones de litio para mejorar su longevidad, adem\u00e1s de ser capaz de detectar la ventilaci\u00f3n de las celdas, que es un signo precoz de fallo catastr\u00f3fico de la bater\u00eda, lo que reduce enormemente el riesgo de incendio en los veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos y los sistemas de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia de los actuales sistemas de gesti\u00f3n de bater\u00edas (BMS), que normalmente s\u00f3lo miden los cambios de temperatura y tensi\u00f3n, Cell Guard supervisa una serie de par\u00e1metros ambientales necesarios para garantizar que la bater\u00eda siga funcionando en condiciones \u00f3ptimas. El sensor se activa cuando detecta compuestos org\u00e1nicos vol\u00e1tiles (COV) emitidos por la ventilaci\u00f3n de la celda y el cambio de presi\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n detecta la humedad, el punto de roc\u00edo y dispone de un aceler\u00f3metro opcional de 3 ejes para registrar las cargas de choque.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque los veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos son intr\u00ednsecamente m\u00e1s seguros que los veh\u00edculos con motor de combusti\u00f3n interna y las posibilidades de incendio son significativamente menores, cuando se producen incidentes t\u00e9rmicos, invariablemente acaparan titulares, lo que repercute en la adopci\u00f3n de esta forma de transporte relativamente incipiente.<\/p>\n<p>Pruebas realizadas por los Laboratorios Nacionales Sandia <strong>Ingenier\u00eda Metis<\/strong>de Cell Guard junto con dos competidores, uno de los cuales est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado principalmente para ESS y se vende a un precio varias veces superior, y el otro, que est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para aplicaciones de VE, pero s\u00f3lo busca hidr\u00f3geno.<\/p>\n<p>En una de las pruebas, el sensor de hidr\u00f3geno tard\u00f3 siete minutos m\u00e1s en registrar que se hab\u00eda producido un evento t\u00e9rmico, momento en el que la fuga t\u00e9rmica hab\u00eda alcanzado una fase avanzada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>En palabras de Joe Holdsworth, Director General de Metis Engineering:<\/strong> Estamos encantados de que nuestro sensor Cell Guard haya demostrado su val\u00eda frente a dos competidores del mercado en una prueba totalmente independiente y realizada por terceros. Nuestro sensor no solo detect\u00f3 un incidente t\u00e9rmico en menos de 60 segundos, sino que los datos CAN que proporciona pudieron utilizarse para informar al conductor de que se detuviera y evacuara el veh\u00edculo\".<\/p>\n<p><strong>continu\u00f3 Holdsworth;<\/strong> \"No se detect\u00f3 hidr\u00f3geno durante la fase de venteo porque la generaci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno suele producirse durante la descomposici\u00f3n cat\u00f3dica principal a temperaturas mucho m\u00e1s elevadas, en torno a los 200 oC. Esto dio lugar a un tiempo de alerta mucho m\u00e1s corto del sensor basado en hidr\u00f3geno en comparaci\u00f3n con los sensores de COV. Esta informaci\u00f3n puede radicalizar el mercado de reventa de veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos usados, ya que los compradores podr\u00e1n tomar decisiones con conocimiento de causa sobre el estado de las bater\u00edas y su mantenimiento. Cell Guard dispone de un sensor de humedad que permite al sistema detectarlo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Limitaciones de los actuales sistemas de gesti\u00f3n de bater\u00edas<\/strong><br \/>\nAunque las bater\u00edas de los veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos ya llevan instalado un sistema de gesti\u00f3n de bater\u00edas (BMS), este sistema puede tener limitaciones a la hora de controlar su estado. Por ejemplo, es posible que los sensores de temperatura s\u00f3lo est\u00e9n presentes en algunas celdas, lo que dificulta la detecci\u00f3n de problemas a tiempo. Detectar problemas en las celdas a trav\u00e9s de las fluctuaciones de tensi\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n puede ser complicado a corto plazo, ya que otras celdas en paralelo pueden aumentar la tensi\u00f3n y ocultar los problemas de una celda.
